Blue and Gold Marching Machine Named HBCU Band of The Year

The unofficial poll was conducted by HBCU Sports during a week-long poll, which concluded Saturday, Jan. 20. The poll asked participants to choose between two finalists: N.C. A&T and Jackson State University. 

Of the 32,005 votes tabulated, A&T received 55.55 percent of the vote (17,778 votes) compared to 44.5 percent of the vote (14,227 votes) received by Jackson State’s Sonic Boom of the South. 

Up next for the Blue and Gold Marching Machine? The Honda Battle of the Bands, in Atlanta Georgia.  The band is one of eight finalists.
