N.C. A&T 125th Anniversary Spring Commencement Ceremony Open to Media

All media outlets are invited to cover the 2016 spring commencement ceremony for North Carolina A&T State University. The ceremony, which will be the culmination of the university’s year-long 125th anniversary celebration, will take place Saturday, May 14, 8:30 a.m., at the Greensboro Coliseum.

U. S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx is slated to deliver the commencement address. The Charlotte, North Carolina native leads more than 55,000 employees in air, maritime and surface transportation with a budget exceeding $70 billion. Following his address, Foxx will be awarded the doctorate of humanities honorary degree for his service to the community.

In addition to commemorating 125 years of excellence in education, research and community engagement, the commencement will feature 1,448 graduates – 1,124 undergraduate, 293 graduate and 31 doctoral – one of the institution’s largest graduating classes.

The commencement ceremony will be streamed live at www.ncat.edu.
