WHY:

BIFAD advises the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on agriculture and higher education issues pertinent to food insecurity in developing countries. Founded as an agricultural and mechanical school, N.C. A&T is deeply rooted in agriculture and has a vested interest in its global impact. Through its Agricultural Research Program, A&T’s School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (SAES) conducts organized research sponsored in part by the Department of Agriculture that impacts citizens around the world. SAES has extensive expertise in areas such as biotechnology, agricultural and biosystems engineering, natural resources management, waste management, and food microbiology. Additionally, Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr. is a member of the international board.
