TOM JOYNER FOUNDATION NAMES HERCULES SCHOLAR
As the month of October comes to a close, A&T alumni and friends can continue sending donations to the Tom Joyner School of the Month campaign through Dec. 31. As the October School of the Month, the Tom Joyner Foundation selects an A&T male student each week with a grade point average of at least 3.5 to receive a $1,500 Hercules scholarship. The students who are selected demonstrate campus leadership and community involvement. Sheldon Fulton, a junior mechanical engineering student at North Carolina A&T State University was named this week’s Tom Joyner Foundation Hercules Scholar.
Fulton plans to become an aerospace engineer and design cost effective, safe, and environmentally friendly air planes.
The scholar and Chicago native is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers, volunteers at a local youth center and is a peer tutor.
Fulton believes in two mottos “put God first and everything else will fall into place” and “your attitude will affect your situation so be positive.”
As the Tom Joyner School of the Month for October 2013, the university partners with the foundation to raise funds for student scholarships which are paid directly to the recipient’s school to help offset their college expenses.
It’s not too late. Support our students by making a donation to the N.C. A&T through the Tom Joyner School of the Month campaign. To donate to the school of the month campaign visit tomjoynerfoundation.org and submit your gift.
