A&T PROFESSOR CO-AUTHORS A BOOK CHAPTER

Dr. Fuabeh Fonge, professor of history at North Carolina A&T State University, has co-authored a book chapter, “Nigeria: The Quest for a Lasting Democracy in the Post-Civil War Era,” which appears in “Democracy in Africa” (Carolina Academic Press, 2012).

In the chapter, Fonge argues that the evolution of Nigerian politics since independence has revealed a tendency to vacillate between civilian and military rules. He also analyzes pre-war politics in Nigeria, party formation and voting behavior, voting patterns among ethnic groups as well as the impact of class formation and ethnic pluralism in the Nigerian political culture.
