UNIVERSITY CHOIR DIRECTOR CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY
Past and present students in the University Choir, at North Carolina A&T State University united to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Maestro Travis W. Alexander, the director of choral studies and activities at North Carolina A&T State University.
The group, featuring more than 30 former students and alumni surprised Alexander with a choral tribute of cherished favorite songs of the choir from years past. It was a grand celebration of appreciation for Alexander who goes above and beyond for his students daily.
The choir worked diligently to execute the surprise – planning, ordering and rehearsing while keeping it all a secret. Several colleagues, HBCU choral directors, accompanists, choir members and state government representatives sent in words of congratulations and encouragement and gifts were presented. The evening ended with a reception in Stallings Ballroom.
