A&T CREATIVE WRITING PROGRAM PRESENTS NORTH CAROLINA POETS

The Creative Writing Program at North Carolina A&T State University presents, The Carolina on My Mind Reading Series—Celebrating the special edition of the Obsidian Journal (Aforebo: A Harvest of North Carolina Writers of African Descent). The event will take place Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) in the General Classroom Building – Auditorium A218 (second floor).  Parking is available in lot G-1 on N. Benbow Road side and at Aggie Stadium.

The evening will feature the best of North Carolina’s Black poets and storytellers.  They include Sandra Govan, Sheila Smith McKoy, Beverly Burnette, Lenard D. Moore and others.  Their presentations include fiction, non fiction and oral story telling styles.

Come out and be inspired, uplifted and sustained by the collective artistry of their words and wisdom. Stick around to chat, and for the authors’ book-signing to follow. This is a joint project with Obsidian Journal’s Sheila Smith McKoy, Editor (North Carolina State University) and Lenard D. Moore, Special Edition Editor of The Carolina African American Writers’ Collective.
