The North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University
family sends thoughts and prayers to the families of Brandon S. Tutt and Antwaine Jackson.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, on the morning
of Tuesday, January 23, Mr. Tutt was killed in a car accident involving
a school bus. Jackson, the passenger in the car
(not a N.C. A&T student), was taken to Moses
Cone Hospital. He passed away on Monday, February 5.
Tutt, 21, was driving on U.S. Highway 421 and Old Julian Road
when the wreck occurred. He was completing his second year at A&T
and worked in Siler City. He had not declared a major at the University
and was originally from Lithonia, Ga.
A&T Counseling Services is working with the Tutt family and
will provide counseling support for A&T students as needed.
"We were deeply saddened upon hearing about the accident
this morning," said A&T Chancellor Lloyd V. Hackley. "On
behalf of our Board of Trustees and the entire Aggie family, we
send our prayers and condolences to the Brandon Tutt family."
The A&T Student Government Association held a memorial service
from noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, January 28, in the Memorial Student
Union Exhibit Hall. A&T's Counseling Services Office is available
to provide counseling support as needed. Feel free to contact them
in room 102 of Murphy Hall or at 336.334.7727.
