Corporal Mark Anthony Bibby, 25, of 4614 Shiloh Road, died Monday, July 21, 2003, in Baghdad, Iraq. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Pender High School Gymtorium, Burgaw, with the Rev. Tremayne Johnson officiating. Interment with full military honors followed in Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, N.C. Mark was a 1996 graduate of Pender High School. He served four years in the U.S. Army and acquired the position of Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Specialist, specializing in decontaminating nuclear and biological warfare. He re-enrolled in 2001 at North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, to complete his degree. His education was interrupted when he was deployed to Iraq as a member of the Reserve Component Unit in support of Operation Enduring Freedom on Jan. 30, 2003. Corporal Bibby leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Eustace A. Bibby Sr. and Jean Elaine Bibby; brother, Eustace A. "Tony" Bibby Jr. and wife, Louise; sister, Christine Nicole Bibby; nephews, Anthony and D'Angelo Bibby; and many other dear relatives and friends. The family received friends and relatives at their residence in Watha. Condolences were received from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2003, at Dunn Funeral Home, Burgaw.
