Research Interests

1. Health Disparities in Immigrant and Refugee Communities. My research focuses on the learning gains that students improve as a result of performing this novel, authentic research project. 2. The Impact of Service Learning on Health Literacy. I study how the ability to process and understand information on health disparities is improved by student involvement in a service learning project outside of the classroom. 3. Impact of real-world experiences on student learning. These range from student assessment of their own Genetic information to development of case studies based on real-life situations.
