The Hearst Argyle News Leadership Symposium at North Carolina A&T State University will offer you the
opportunity to:

  • Participate in exciting seminars on:
    • ethics
    • technology
    • newscast development
  • Learn from some of the television industry’s top newsroom leaders
  • Enhance your writing skills with one of the industry’s top writing consultants, Mackie Morris
  • Develop good news producing techniques

QUALIFICATIONS

The symposium is open to May and December graduating seniors (A few juniors will also be selected.) enrolled in a four-year accredited historically black college or university. Students must have a genuine interest in newsroom management. This symposium is NOT for students who aspire to become anchors and reporters. Students MUST be able to stay for the entire symposium. Students must have a declared major in broadcast journalism or communications and a cumulative grade point average of 2.7. Applications are due April 30, 2007.
