A&T’s Jazz Ensemble Spring Concert Featuring: Trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis

National Endowment of the Arts’ Jazz Master and Grammy award winning trombonist, Delfeayo Marsalis will be featured performer at A&T’s Jazz Ensemble Spring Concert.

The North Carolina A&T State University’s Jazz Ensembles spring concert will feature jazz music great Delfeayo Marsalis, member of the famed Marsalis music family and younger brother to Branford and Wynton Marsalis.

This is not the first time that Marsalis has collaborated with his long-time friend and jazz music colleague Mondre Moffett, professor of jazz at A&T and director of the jazz ensemble. In the spring of 2009 the ensemble collaborated and performed in concert with Marsalis at Harrison Auditorium.

Mr. Marsalis has a long history of using his expertise to mentor A&T music majors. Marsalis and Mondre have teamed together once more to give audiences a unique musical experience. This year’s concert titled, A Jazz Jubilee, will expand the boundaries of music bringing together the best of traditional and contemporary jazz music.
