FIRST TECH Challenge (FLL) State Championship Tournament

North Carolina A&T State University’s College of Engineering will host the FIRST TECH Challenge (FLL) State Championship Tournament Saturday, February 14. The opening ceremony will begin at 10:45 a.m. in Corbett Sports Center.

Over 32 teams of middle and high school students grades 7-12, from across the state will compete using a sports model. This year’s theme is “Cascade Effect.”

The College of Engineering at N.C. A&T serves as the operational partner for North Carolina and manages all regional and state competitions for NC FIRST LEGO League and NC FIRST Tech Challenge.

“Our organizations share a common interest in inspiring great minds about science, technology, engineering, and math; and aiding in the preparedness to create innovative solutions for our society and the world. Each year, our faculty and students volunteer to serve as mentors, referees, coaches, and judges, because we are excited to be engaged in helping teams make the connection between academics, teamwork and professional success,” said Dr. Robin Coger, dean of the College of Engineering.

Winners will advance to the FIRST TECH Challenge World Championship in St. Louis, Missouri in April.
