College of Engineering Dean's Distinguished Spring Speaker Series
The College of Engineering will host a Distinguished Speaker Series by Dr. Joseph DeSimone, Chancellor's Eminent Professor of Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and William R. Kenan, Jr. Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering at North Carolina State University.
The Dean’s Distinguished Speaker Series will be held on Tuesday, March 11, at 11:00 a.m. in McNair Auditorium. DeSimone will present “Translating Basic Science into Products: Interplay Between Innovation and Entrepreneurship. This lecture will describe the insights, and introduce the team and the strategies behind translating the basic science and engineering from one industry (microelectronics) into products useful in other fields (medicine and vaccines) to improve the health and well being of society.
