MLK Commemorative Celebration - Unclaimed Legacy: Who Will Lead the Next Social Movement

N.C. A&T State University will kick off the new year with its annual 2014 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration. The events will include:

  • National Day of Service, Monday, Jan. 20, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Students can still sign up to volunteer by calling 336.334.7792.

  • Candlelight March & Vigil, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 6 p.m. at the Aggie Village Reflection Pool

  • Oratorical Contest, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 7 p.m. in Harrison Auditorium. Free and open to the public.

  • Commemorative Program, featuring Jeff Johnson, Thursday, Jan. 23, 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:45 p.m.) in Harrison Auditorium. This event is co-sponsored with UNCG. There will be a LIVE FEED in the Memorial Student Union, Stallings Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.

  • There will be a food drive in recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Jan. 14-31. Drop offs will be in Murphy Hall 104, noon – 4 p.m. (accepting non-perishable food items only. C.A.S.E. approved). For more information call 336.334.7800.
