Inaugural Poet Richard Blanco

Bluford Library and the Greensboro Public Library celebrate the One City One Book initiative and Hispanic Heritage Month by welcoming acclaimed poet Richard Blanco on Monday, October 14, 3 p.m. in the Academic Classroom Building, room 101.

A poet and teacher, Blanco immigrated to the United States from Madrid, Spain to Miami when he was only an infant. In 2013, he became the first immigrant, the first Latino, the first openly gay person and the youngest person to serve as an inaugural poet, with this reading of "One Today".  A book signing will immediately follow.

Co-Sponsors: Greensboro Public Library’s “One City, One Book” and Guilford Green Foundation. For more information contact Kate Silton at Bluford Library at 336.285.4185.
