Message from the CIO

Welcome! It’s an exciting time at North Carolina A&T State University. In May, the university awarded degrees to the largest graduating class in its history. This fall, A&T is poised for record freshman enrollment and will implement a major reorganization of colleges and academic programs. A&T continues to be a leader in research and education.

Information Technology Services delivers technology solutions to support these efforts. This past year, we moved Blackboard, Banner and RMS into new server environments, began a campus wide upgrade of the wireless network, and worked with the School of Business to prepare for an upcoming accreditation review. We also worked hard to improve the efficiency of campus technology. Our team supports faculty, staff and student technology, designs online courses and learning materials, and manages over four hundred servers.

In the coming year, ITS will develop a strategic technology plan and refine our planning, communication, and project management processes. We will partner with other divisions to address some strategic technology needs in recruitment, retention and efficiency. We will also work to strengthen relationships with academic departments and handle some more mundane items such as improving network closet security. It promises to be another exciting year.
