What is Form 1098-T (Tuition Payments Statement)?
Form 1098-T (Tuition Payments Statement) will be sent to students at North Carolina A&T State University who paid, or for whom a third party paid on their behalf, tuition and fees during each taxable year.
Why did I receive Form 1098-T (Tuition Payments Statement)?
This form is being sent to all students taking credit courses at North Carolina A&T State University during each tax year, regardless of whether they are eligible for a tax credit. Form 1098-T (Tuition Payments Statement) will be provided to assist in the determination of eligibility for an income tax credit on your income tax return. North Carolina A&T State University is required to issue a Form 1098-T by the IRS.
What if the information reported on Form 1098-T (Tuition Payments Statement) is incorrect?
If you find that the name and/or social security number reported on Form 1098-T (Tuition Payments Statement) is incorrect, please contact the Treasurer’s Office at (336) 334-7721.
Why is the amount on my 1098-T different from the amounts listed in Aggie Access?
The only information that is included within your 1098-T is qualified tuition and fees which includes:
- Tuition
- Required Fees
- Athletics Fees
Will I qualify for a tax credit?
North Carolina A&T State University is not in the position to be able to provide you with tax advice or assistance in determining whether you are eligible to claim a credit or the amount of the credit. For assistance in the preparation of your income tax return, please contact a tax professional or refer to IRS Publication 970 (Tax Benefits for Higher Education).
How can I obtain another copy of my 1098-T?
To access your 1098-T please follow the steps below:
- Go to www.1098T.com
- Click access your 1098-T here
- You may choose to login with your school Student Identification (Banner Number) or your Social Security Number
- Enter either your Banner Number or your Social Security Number
- Enter your last name
- DO NOT ENTER A PASSWORD
- Click on Login
- Enter Your First Name
- Enter Your Mother’s Maiden Name
- Enter Your Date of Birth - Format: (01/01/2012)
- Note the password that will be displayed and click proceed
- Select your tax year
- Click View My 1098-T Tax Form
Please save the password that was displayed for future access to the 1098T website.
