The Doretha Tyler Book Scholarship Fund

In honor of Ms. Doretha Tyler, the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice wishes to create the Doretha Tyler Book Scholarship Fund. This fund will support students pursuing their degree in Political Science and Criminal Justice at North Carolina A & T State University.
1. Hereafter The Doretha Tyler Book Scholarship Fund shall be referred to as "The Fund" and the North Carolina A&T University Foundation, Inc. shall be referred to as the "Foundation."
2. All designated funds donated by the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice and other contributors shall be placed in The Fund and shall be identified as such by the Foundation.
3. The university’s scholarship office will process the scholarship. Applications, along with recommendations will be taken annually by the department chair of Political Science and Criminal Justice. A committee appointed by the Scholarship Office shall review the applications and select the recipient(s) in conjunction with the Department Chair. Annual awards with be determined by the Department Chair.

The Doretha Tyler Book Scholarship Fund Criteria
Scholarship awards will be made based on the following criteria:
• Student must demonstrate hardship
• Student must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Student must be a Political Science or Criminal Justice Major
• Completed application typed or written in blue or black ink

If future circumstances prevent The Fund from being used according to the above criteria, the Foundation’s Board of Directors reserves the right to modify this agreement in the best interest of the university.
