The Ms. Charlayne Gray Scholarship Fund

In honor of Ms. Charlayne Gray, the Department of Sociology and Social Work wishes to create the Charlayne Gray Scholarship Fund. This fund will support students pursuing their degree in Sociology or Social Work at North Carolina A & T State University.

  1. Hereafter The Charlayne Gray Scholarship Fund shall be referred to as "The Fund" and the North Carolina A&T University Foundation, Inc. shall be referred to as the "Foundation."
  2. All designated funds donated by the Department of Sociology and Social Work or family members and other contributors shall be placed in The Fund and shall be identified as such by the Foundation.
  3. The university's scholarship office will administer the scholarship with applications taken annually. A committee appointed by the Scholarship Office shall review the applications and select the recipient(s).

The Ms. Charlayne Gray Scholarship Fund Criteria

Scholarship awards will be made based on the following criteria:

  • Student must major in Sociology or Social Work
  • Maintain minimum 2.5 GPA or better and present documented volunteer service hours
  • Applicants must be classified as a sophomore according to the department’s curriculum

If future circumstances prevent The Fund from being used according to the above criteria, the Foundation’s Board of Directors reserves the right to modify this agreement in the best interest of the university.
