Emma Wilson Endowed Scholarship Fund

Mrs. Emma Wilson was born near Waycross, Georgia on May 9, 1900. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. church located in Greensboro, North Carolina where she sang in the choir and was a soloist. She departed this life on September 16, 1962.

The Endowed Scholarship Fund was established on August 26, 1997 by Mr. Michael Fleming. Miss Wilson assisted in raising Mr. Fleming along with his siblings. She was a good influence and made many contributions to his life during his formative years through her care, kindness, compassion and sterling characteristics. The purpose of the fund is to recruit undergraduate female students pursuing a degree in Elementary Education.

• Scholarships from the Emma Wilson Endowed Scholarship Fund will be awarded to deserving female students as determined by the School of Education Scholarship Committee.
