University Teaching Awards

Each year NC A&T recognizes teaching excellence by awarding school/college/division-level and university-level teaching awards. These awards carry a cash stipend and public recognition at the annual NC A&T Faculty Awards Dinner.  The UNC Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching is formally presented at the university graduation ceremony in May.

The university's three teaching awards include the:

  • Outstanding College/School Teaching Award
  • Junior Faculty Teaching Excellence Award
  • UNC Board of Governors Award for Excellence in Teaching

Teaching Excellence Awards Application Information

Application information for 2014-2015 North Carolina A&T State University Teaching Excellence Awards is provided in the documents linked below.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TEACHING AWARD NOMINEES (Oct. 1, 2014): This year teaching portfolios will be submitted digitally via SharePoint, the university’s intranet. Teaching award nominees will upload a set of files (their teaching portfolio) to a personal SharePoint folder and school/college teaching award committees will use the SharePoint site to review and evaluate the submitted teaching award portfolios. The university Teaching Excellence Awards Committee will do the same. If you are being nominated for one of the university’s teaching awards, please complete the VERY BRIEF online form linked below ASAP so that a personal, private folder on the SharePoint site can be created for you to upload your teaching portfolio materials digitally.

After you complete this online form you will be sent a link to your personal Sharepoint folder and instructions for naming the files that you will upload. In the meantime, as indicated in the teaching award application information, you should simply create one Adobe Acrobat pdf file for each of the sections of the teaching portfolio (nomination form, letters of support, etc.). Once you have the files completed it will only take a few minutes to upload your files.

NOTE: Completing the online form is the only way to identify faculty members who are being nominated for the university teaching awards so that personal SharePoint folders for uploading materials can be created. Please complete the form linked above as soon as possible. It will only take a couple of minutes to complete the form.
