Department of Chemistry

Welcome to the Department of Chemistry at N.C. A&T State University. Chemistry undergraduate and graduate students will study and live in a teaching and research environment that is collegial and contributes to life-long learning. This is possible because the Department of Chemistry has excellent student-professor relationships, outstanding course offerings and excellent instructional and laboratory facilities.

Graduates of the program enjoy successful careers in industry, academia and the government. Many of our graduates go on to pursue advanced degree programs at prestigious graduate, dental and medical schools across the country. Dr. Zerihun Assefa is the interim chairperson of the Department. N.C. A&T Professor Named Program Director at National Science Foundation

GREENSBORO, N.C. (Feb. 16, 2018) -- In its latest partnership with N.C. A&T State University, the National Science Foundation (NSF) has tapped Tonya Smith-Jackson, Ph.D., to serve as a program director for the Computer & Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Directorate’s Division of Information and Intelligent Systems (IIS).
