Tom Sandin has been teaching at A & T since 1968. Before that, he taught at the main and Indianapolis campuses of Purdue University and the Kokomo campus of Indiana University. He wrote the textbook Essentials of Modern Physics and its instructor's manual. He was a contributing author of several editions of Sears and Zemansky's University Physics and a recent edition of Sears and Zemansky's College Physics.
He has publications in the areas of low-temperature solid-state physics, the Mossbauer effect, magnetic anisotropy, special relativity, and physics education.
Emilie Hall Sandin is his wife and helper. They are the parents of five, the grandparents of eleven, and the great-grandparents of two.
