One-year program track for M.S. in Civil Engineering

General Description
The M.S. in CE program has course-only, project, and thesis option leading to the same M.S. degree in CE. The one-year M.S. program track is identical to the course-only option and can be completed with the following schedule that incorporates taking a summer course.

This program track is intended for civil, architectural or environmental engineering majors newly graduating with a B.S. degree, as well as for those already in the workforce who are interested in:

  • Expanding their education beyond the Bachelor of Science level and improving their professional competitiveness in the job market;
  • Completing an M.S. degree within 12-months, beginning fall semester and ending during the following summer semester;
  • Gaining an M.S. degree prior to joining a Ph.D. program at any institutions of higher education.

 

Eligibility:
This program track is designed to serve students with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, physical sciences or mathematics from US or international institutions who meet the Graduate College and departmental admission requirements.
Admission requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited college or university in a Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2.8 GPA
  • The official TOEFL score (at least 80 or higher internet-based score), or IELTS score (6.5 or higher) for international applicants.
  • Three letters of recommendation.
  • Applicants to this one-year M.S. program track are required to have full funding for their graduate education.

International Students

Domestic Students
