Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. As you browse through this web page you will realize that we have a diverse representation of students, faculty and staff in terms of cultural backgrounds, gender and ethnicity. We are committed to student-centered approach to learning and to student success. We pay particular attention to our freshmen and mentor them to be successful as they transition from high school to college. We have small classes which promotes a more engaged, intimate, and interactive learning environment. Members of the faculty have expertise in their respective fields with a passion and commitment for teaching, research and service.

We offer a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees in Mechanical Engineering. Our undergraduate degree program has an Aerospace Option for students who are interested in aerodynamics, aero-propulsion, avionics and aero-structures. An Honors program is available for those students with a strong academic background and research interest. Our Bachelor’s degree gives graduates the knowledge, skills, and attributes to be successful in the private sector, government, and non-governmental organizations. Several of our graduates have won research and teaching assistantships to study at prestigious graduate schools.

Our faculty members and their graduate students perform research in such areas as materials, aerospace, structural health monitoring, thermal management, micro-mechanics and micro-fluidics, control systems, design and manufacturing. Theatre Arts at N.C. A&T to Present Original Stage Play “Mississippi Born and Bred”

The award-winning Theatre Arts program at N.C. A&T State University will open its 2017-18 season, Oct.19-22 and Oct. 26-29 with the world premiere of “Mississippi Born and Bred,” written and directed by Darius Omar Williams, Ph.D.
