  • Mission: AIS provides software development, project management and technical support for the systems that support business and administrative processes related to the mission critical functions of the University.

  • Vision: The vision of AIS is to develop and support a community of knowledge workers (students, teachers, researchers, staff and administrators).

  • Focus: The focus of AIS is to provide easy access to secure, reliable and timely data, retain quality staff and partner with others to provide technical leadership and effective solutions.

AIS consists of three units: Development and Maintenance, User Training and Project Management.

Development and Maintenance

This area is responsible for the development and maintenance of the campus administrative applications, including but not limited to, the Student Information System (SIS), Financial Records System (FRS), Alumni Development System (ADS), Human Resources System (HRS), University Data Extracts, and FOCUS Reporting.
   
User Training

Working with business and administrative offices, user training is provided for:
  • SIS screens and web access (faculty and new employees)
  • E~Print Web Reports viewer
  • FOCUS reporting
  • New features (major system enhancements)
   
Project Management

The Project Management staff offers guidelines and best practices for project management. They work closely with users, programming staff, and database administration. It is project management's responsibility to:

  • Develop project specifications
  • Develop project deliverables
  • Develop timelines and tasks
  • Test scenarios
  • Ensure project closure
Goals for the Academic Year
  • Continue to increase the administrative systems presence on the Internet
  • Continue to improve client satisfaction
  • Continue the replacement process of all administrative or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems with SCT Banner
  • Continue to provide IT training to clients based on user consultations, requests and survey results
