Fall and Transfer Open House Set for N.C. A&T

Greensboro, N.C. (Oct. 18, 2017) – North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University will hold Fall and Transfer Open House, from 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21, in Corbett Sports Center and 9 a.m. – noon, Saturday, Nov. 11, in the Alumni Foundation Event Center respectively.

As the largest recruitment event of the year, the Office of Admissions exposes prospective students to the N.C. A&T campus experience through university-wide collaboration. The all-inclusive day provides students and parents an opportunity to tour the campus, ask questions and interact with administrators, faculty, staff and students, to see the amazing things the university has to offer in academics, student support services and athletics.

In November, transfer students will be able to speak with university representatives regarding specific admissions requirements and transfer credits.

Registration and check-in times for Fall and Transfer Open House are available by visiting Admissions Special Events.

Paul

Dr. Paul Ankomah

Dr. Paul Ankomah, a tenured professor in the Department of Human Performance and Leisure Studies, has received a Fulbright award to the University of Cape Coast, Ghana for the 2017 – 2018 academic year. Dr. Ankomah has been invited to serve as a visiting professor in the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management by the dean, Dr. Eric Amuquandoh. He will join the teaching faculty at the post-graduate level where he will engage in collaborative research, supervise PhD students in the field, mentor junior faculty and assist with curricula reviews. Additionally, Dr. Amuquandoh and his colleagues are interested in developing a journal in hospitability and tourism and are requesting Dr. Ankomah’s assistance with this endeavor during his tenure at the university. The Fulbright Program is the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government. Among its aims is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries.

Dr Antoniette Maldonado Devincci

Dr. Antoniette Maldonado-Devincci

Dr. Antoniette Maldonado-Devincci, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, received the 2016-2017 College of Health Sciences Research Excellence Rookie of the Year Award. During the 2016 academic year, Dr. Maldonado-Devincci received an NC TraCS award and was selected by NC TraCS as NC A&T State University’s K Scholar. Dr. Dr. Maldonado-Devincci has 19 publications (3 since her appointment at NC A&T) and 88 presentations.

Dr. Teresa Dial

Dr. Teresa Dial, Associate Professor in the Department of Human performance and Leisure Studies, received the 2016-2017 College of Health and Human Sciences Teaching Excellence Award. Dr. Dail is exercise scientist in the fields of biomechanics and motor control She also was program coordinator for the Masters of Arts in Teaching program for persons pursuing certification as physical education teachers. Dr. Dail employs the most up-to-date practices in her teaching, using research-based guidelines relate to learning and retention.

 

Maura

Dr. Maura Nsonwu

Dr. Maura Nsonwu is co-author of “Human Trafficking: Applying Research, Theory and Case Studies”. This interdisciplinary textbook was released spring 2017 by Sage Publications as its first book to cover this topic.

Jerono

Dr. Jerono P. Rotich

 

Dr. Jerono P. Rotich Recipient, 2016, Kenyan Community in NC Teaching and Advisement Excellence Award. The Awards were presented at the community meeting by the Kenyan Ambassador to the United State, His Excellency Dr. Robinson Githae.
