Sandra R. Duarte is from Nuevo Laredo, located on the border of Mexico and United States. Her MA and BA degree in Spanish Language and Literature is from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She was selected as the recipient of the Augustine LaRochelle Scholarship. Among her awards and achievements Professor Duarte was a member of the Executive Leadership Program at UNCG.  As an instructor, she encourages learners to travel abroad for new experiences, but also make connections with culture and multilingual communities to develop competence and communicate effectively.
