Financial Managers
Oversee the preparation of financial statements; determine an organization's needs for funds, raise funds when needed, and oversee the investment of funds; develop the firm's credit policies and establish collection procedures; deal with mergers and acquisitions.

Stock Brokers
Represent individuals and organizations that want to invest in and sell stock, bonds, and other securities; evaluate companies offering securities to see if investing in them is worth the risk; advise clients on investment strategies to achieve their financial goals.

Bank Examiners
Investigate banks and other financial institutions to ensure their safety and soundness; evaluate the quality of loans and capital adequacy of financial institutions to make sure that people do not lose money they have entrusted to these organizations.

Securities Analysts (also called Financial Analysts)
Assess the economic performance of companies and industries for firms and institutions with money to invest, thus helping these firms make investment decisions; analyze financial data, project future earnings, and make recommendations to buy or sell a particular investment or security.

Investment Bankers
Assist corporations who wish to raise funds sell their securities in the marketplace; advise corporations on appropriate merger and acquisition strategies.

Lending Officers
Assist potential borrowers in applying for loans; evaluate the creditworthiness of borrowers and recommend whether a loan should be made.

Financial Institution Officers and Managers
Oversee the activities of banks and other financial institutions; perform services as branch managers, regional managers, and executives at company headquarters.
Financial Planners (also called Personal Financial Advisors)
Recommend financial options to individuals and families in accordance with their short-term and long-term goals; address issues such as retirement planning, minimizing taxes, preparing for a child's college education, providing adequate insurance protection, buying a house, managing debt, and estate planning.

College Finance Teacher
Teach finance courses to college students; advise students in preparing for their careers; perform research on current financial issues; provide service to the university, community, and profession.
