College Counselor Conference

High school counselors!

Come experience the university at our 2013 College Counselor Conference. This one-day workshop will take place on Friday, March 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will allow you to learn about our extensive academic programs, research opportunities, student life as well as our admissions process.

Attendees will interact with faculty, staff and students while learning about the resources available at North Carolina A&T. Participants can also earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through the College Board* after the workshop.

This session will provide participants with the opportunity to explore "YouCanGo!" and "BigFuture" - new, free online college planning resources created collaboratively by The Education Conservancy and the College Board. Participants will be presented with research about student needs, wants, and online/social trends, and learn how these sites will help counselors and educators guide students through meaningful self-exploration as part of the college search process and college planning journey. Strategies for incorporating these sites into the counseling toolbox and best practices will be shared on how to create a college going culture at their schools. (Continuing Education Units will be awarded)
