Special Departmental Requirements

These guidelines will help you navigate the transfer process. Some information is specific to individual programs or dependent on the institution you are transferring from. Departmental Programs

The following academic areas have additional admissions requirements.  Applicants must meet these requirements in addition to the general admissions requirements.

School of Nursing:

  • 3.0 or higher GPA

Note: Students must complete BIOL 100, CHEM 104, CHEM 114, and BIOL 361 with a minimum grade of "C" or higher on the first attempt. Chemistry and Anatomy & Physiology cannot be more than 5 years old.

College of Engineering:

  • 2.5 or higher GPA

Note: Students must complete Calculus I with a grade of "C" or higher.

Biology Department:

  • 2.5 or Higher GPA

Biology: Seconday Education Department:

  • 2.8 or Higher GPA

Chemistry Department:

  • 2.5 or Higher GPA

Chemistry: Seconday Education Department:

  • 2.8 or Higher GPA

Criminal Justice Department:

  • 2.5 or Higher GPA

Elementary Education Department:

  • 2.8 or Higher GPA

English: Seconday Education Department:

  • 2.8 or Higher GPA

History: Secondary Education Department:

  • 2.7 or Higher GPA

Journalism & Mass Communications Department:

  • 2.5 or Higher GPA

Liberal Studies: Pre-Law Department:

  • 2.8 or Higher GPA

Mathematics: Secondary Education Department:

  • 2.8 or Higher GPA

Physics: Secondary Education Department:

  • 2.5 or Higher GPA

Political Science Department:

  • 2.8 or Higher GPA

Psychology Department:

  • 2.6 or Higher GPA

Social Work Department:

  • 2.5 or Higher GPA

Speech Department:

  • 2.7 or Higher GPA

Speech Language/Pathology Department:

  • 2.8 or Higher GPA

Sports Science & Fitness Management: Business Administration Department:

  • 2.3 or Higher GPA

Sports Science & Fitness Management: Pre-Physical Therapy Department:

  • 2.8 or Higher GPA

Visual & Performing Arts: Art Secondary Education Department:

  • 2.8 or Higher GPA

Visual & Performing Arts: Music Secondary Education Department:

International students

Transferring international Students must have their foreign education classes translated and evaluated by an accredited credential evaluation service.  The evaluation service must provide a full course evaluation report.  We recommend that applicants choose World Education Services (WES) or International Education Evaluations, Inc. (IEE) as their credential evaluation service.
