Important Dates and Deadlines

Thank you for your interest in scholarship opportunities at North Carolina A&T State University. Please review the information below for important dates and deadlines regarding scholarship applications for incoming freshman.

SEPTEMBER

APPLY FOR ADMISSIONS: The Office of Undergraduate Admission begins accepting online applications for admission on a rolling basis beginning on or around September 1st. You should expect an admission decision will be made within 4-6 weeks from the time a completed application is received.

OCTOBER

FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE: The scholarship applications for incoming freshman administered through the Office of Student Financial Aid will become available in mid to late October. Specific details regarding criteria and requirements can be found on the Incoming Freshman Scholarship page.

JANUARY

APPLY FOR FAFSA: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is available beginning January 1st of each year. Filing the application by March 1st is strongly encouraged to be considered for the maximum value of need based awards. North Carolina A&T State University FAFSA School Code is 002905.

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE: Incoming freshman and currently enrolled students may apply for Endowed Scholarships beginning January 1st.

FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE: All completed applications for the Lewis and Elizabeth Dowdy Scholarship and National Alumni Scholarship must be received on or before January 15th.

FEBRUARY

FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED: Scholarship applicants for the Lewis and Elizabeth Dowdy and National Alumni Scholarship are notified by letter and/or email in mid to late February.

MARCH

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED: Scholarship applicants are notified by letter and/or email between March and June prior to the upcoming academic year.

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE: Priority deadline to apply for Endowed Scholarships is March 1st.

GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS AWARDED: Based upon available funding the Office of Student Financial Aid will begin awarding partial scholarships to student who meet certain criteria.
