Title III HBCU Funds in the Title III HBCU Faculty/Administrative Staff Development Program can be used to assist faculty/administrative staff to work toward doctoral degrees, attend short courses, seminars, or other professional experiences to enhance their teaching effectiveness or update themselves professionally in their respective disciplines and/or areas of responsibility. Paper presentation and out of country travel are not allowable. To apply for a Title III HBCU faculty/administrative staff development grant, one must: (1) complete a Title III HBCU Application for Faculty Development Grant, (2) submit a brief proposal outlining the purpose and cost of the professional development experience and (3) submit a travel request and travel reimbursement and an Activity Summary Report detailing the outcome of the experience once the travel has been completed. If applying for assistance to work toward a doctoral degree, one must sign a statement of acceptance to return to the University after completion of the study and remain for at least two years or repay the institution for funds received to work towards the degree.
