Faculty Development Program The Office of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs for Undergraduate Programs administers the Faculty Development Program at North Carolina A & T State University. It includes four components: (1) State Faculty Development Grant Program, (2) Board of Governors' Doctoral Assignment Program, (3) Title III HBCU Faculty/Administrative Development Program, and (4) Tuition Waiver Program. The purpose of the Faculty Development Program is to support faculty and administrative personnel in their quest to: (1) pursue doctoral degrees, (2) upgrade and enhance their skills by attending short courses, seminars or other professional experiences to update themselves professionally in their respective disciplines and/or area of responsibility, and (3) meet the University needs of instruction, research and community service. State Faculty Development Program Funds in the State Faculty Development Program can be used to assist faculty to attend short courses, seminars, present papers, or other professional experiences to enhance their teaching effectiveness. To apply for a faculty development grant, one must: (1) complete an Application for Faculty Development Grant, (2) submit a brief proposal outlining the purpose and cost of professional development experience and (3) submit a travel request and travel reimbursement and an Activity Summary Report detailing the outcome of the experience once the travel has been completed.
