Division Academic Affairs


The Division of Academic Affairs is one of seven (7) major Divisions within the central administrative organization of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. The division is administered through the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs with the assistance of a senior administrative staff consisting of two vice chancellors, three associate vice chancellors, five assistant vice chancellors, and a special assistant to the provost.

The organization is composed of eight (8) schools/colleges, namely, the School of Agriculture and Environmental and Allied Sciences, the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Business and Economics, the School of Education, the College of Engineering, the School of Nursing, the School of Technology and the School of Graduate and Professional Studies. Also under the direct supervision of the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs are the Office of Planning, Assessment and Research, EPA Salary Administration, the enrollment management functions which itself include the offices of the Registrar, Student Financial Aid, Admissions; the academic and administrative computing and communications functions of the Division of Information Technology, the Academy for Teaching and Learning, the Center for Student Success, the Waste Management Institute, the Bluford Library, all Distance Learning Programs, the Honors Program, the Office of International Programs, the Office of Summer Sessions and Outreach, ROTC, Continuing Education, and Evening/Weekend Programs and the Band Program.

The Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs is responsible for reviewing, evaluating and recommending changes in academic policies and programs.

The mission of the Division of Academic Affairs at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University is to provide leadership and insure quality in the areas of instruction, research and community service for its publics. Moreover, as a public, comprehensive, land-grant institution, the University and the Division of Academic Affairs are committed to fulfilling its fundamental purposes through exemplary undergraduate and graduate instruction designed to develop students who are effectively prepared to assume leadership roles in their areas of specialization.

A corollary expectation of the Academic Affairs Division is to provide support services to include: faculty development and outreach programs.
