Program Description:  
This one week hands-on technology, math, and science camp is designed for rising 8th through 12th grade students.  Participants will be engaged in math and science projects that drive technology.  Students will be immersed in technology laboratories with Math, Science, and Technology faculty, exploring the latest technological trends.  Students will engage in the exploration of:

·        Math principals and applications needed for technology

·        Science principles and applications needed for technology

·        Robotics, Animation, Game Design, and other Technological areas

·        Teamwork Abilities

·        Presentation Practices

·        Leadership Skills

·        Problem-Solving Methods

·        Creating and running a (CMS) Content Management System website (Wordpress & Joomla)

·        Social Media Etiquette and Responsibilities

·        Computer Troubleshooting and Network Security Techniques

·        Digital Media (Audio & Video) Techniques

This is a Day Camp that is non-residential.  Space is limited; therefore, any forms and/or deposits received after deadline dates will be considered by date priority and availability.  All forms and final payments should be received by deadline dates.

Camp Hours:  8am – 5pm

Lunch and Snacks are Included.

Building Constructions Summer Program

Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development Summer Program 2014 in collaboration with the School of Technology Department of Built Environment

Session 1: June 23 - 27, 2014 | Session 2: July 7-11, 2014

Fee: $180 each week
Building Construction Summer Program - Building Construction Summer Program for high school students is offered to rising 9th through 12th grade students that excel in math, science, and technical courses and interested in the field of construction science.

This program is an excellent starting point for students considering a career in construction management. Participants will learn construction basics and how STEM is incorporated into building design with site, climate, function, and green considerations. 

Activities and instruction are centered around four major blocks of instruction: design, construction methods, construction materials and testing. There will be lots of hands - on projects supervised by the Department of Built Environment faculty at North Carolina A&T State University.

Registration Fee

Tuition is $180 and includes all instruction, lunch for the week, and field trip activities. All activity fees and transportation for field trips are covered, so spending money is not required, but many students do bring some cash for souvenirs. Students will have the opportunity to visit to the bookstore on Friday.

$100 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration.

-       Students are registered into the program on a first come first served basis.

-       Space is limited with a maximum of 25 students.

-       Full Day Session: 8:30 am-4:30 pm.

-       One week workshop program: Monday-Friday.

-       Open to rising 9th - 12th grade students.

Other Notes
Transportation: All participants must furnish their own transportation to and from the university. All field trips are covered by registration fees.

Lunch: Lunch included in the registration fees in Williams Cafeteria each day. Students should bring a nutrition snack each day.

Refund Policy:
No refunds will be given for cancellations after Friday, June 1, 2014 (session I) and Friday, July 1, 2014 (session II).
