GENERAL PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
The admission of students to the undergraduate degree program in the Department of Built Environment is based upon the general admission requirements of North Carolina A&T State University.


DEPARTMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Students who desire to matriculate in the Department of Built Environment must have a strong background in math, science, and communication skills. Basic computer skills are recommended.

All majors in the department must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) -AND- earn at least a grade of “C” or better in all major courses. 

Any student transferring to the Department of Built Environment from other schools or colleges within the University must have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.50 (on a 4.0 scale). 

Students majoring in Construction Management and Environmental Health and Safety MUST complete a minimum of 126 semester hours of University courses, per the requirements listed in your course curriculum. 

CURRICULUM

Students should be following the curriculum sheet that was effective the term that they matriculated into the School of Technology. All effective dates begin with the FALL semester. Therefore, if a student entered in the Spring or Summer term, the curriculum they will follow was the curriculum in place the FALL prior to their matriculation (i.e., Spring 2007 start date follows the Fall 2006 curriculum). 

Should a student decide that they want to transfer to the most current curriculum offered by the department, they must submit a PETITION form requesting the change. Students are strongly encouraged to align the courses that they have taken, with the new curriculum to understand if any delay in completing the requirements for graduation will result from the change. PETITION forms must be signed by your faculty advisor, and your department chair, prior to submitting the form to the Office of Student Success.
