Undergraduate Focus
Sport Science is a discipline that studies the application of scientific principles and techniques with the aim of improving sporting performance. Areas included in the study of sport science are physiology, motor control, psychology and biomechanics. Nutrition, performance analysis, and applied anatomy are also included in the range of topics covered within this discipline. Fitness Management prepares graduates to develop and conduct exercise programs with the knowledge and understanding of biomechanics, strength and conditioning, and fitness leadership to name a few. Upon graduation, the student will have a thorough understanding of sport as a science as it relates to how exercise and nutrition affects the body, training, and overall conditioning. Graduates will also be able to apply that knowledge in a variety of sport, fitness or recreation environments.
