Biography and Additional Information:

Dr. Maranda McBride is the Director of the Transportation Institute and Associate professor of Management at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.  She also teaches classes in the Industrial and Systems Engineering department.  Dr. McBride obtained her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCAT).  Her graduate degree concentration was in Human-Machine Systems Engineering.  Dr. McBride also holds an MBA from Wake Forest University and a Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) from the Association for Operations Management (APICS).

Aside from her current position at NCAT, Dr. McBride has also worked as a Process Engineer at Lucent Technologies, an Assistant Professor of Industrial and Systems Engineering at NCAT, an Assistant professor of Human Factors and Systems at Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), and was the Founder/Director of the ERAU McNair Scholars Program. In addition to her faculty positions, Dr. McBride has held multiple Summer Faculty Researcher positions at the Army Research Lab in Aberdeen, Maryland.

Dr. McBride’s research has been published in several professional journals associated with her research discipline, including Applied Ergonomics, Computers and Industrial Engineering, Ergonomics, Human Factors, International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics, and International Journal of Information Systems and Change Management.  She has also published her research in conference proceedings associated with organizations such as the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, Institute of Industrial Engineers, and Decision Sciences Institute, just to name a few.  In addition, she has been awarded over $1.4 million in funding to support her research and service activities.
