Department of Business Education

Welcome to the website of the Department of Business Education, one of five departments in the School of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T State University. The Department of Business Education prepares business teachers and information technology professionals for the ever changing workforce. Our business education programs, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, combine technology, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, leadership, ethics, and social responsibility to prepare our students for careers in education, business, government, and industry.

We offer two undergraduate degrees and one graduate degree.

The Bachelor of Science in Business Teacher Education (BTE) program offers concentrations in computer technology, economics, and marketing. Each of these prepares you to teach business education at the middle and secondary levels (grades 6-12). This program is available online as well as in the traditional classroom environment.

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (IT) program prepares you for end user technology positions in business and industry. In this major, you can tailor the focus of your degree by selecting IT electives from a wide variety of options including software systems, networking, security, and animation/graphics.

The Master of Arts in Teaching Business Education (MAT) welcomes candidates who hold degrees in a business discipline and wish to enter the teaching profession as business educators. Specific admission criteria, program requirements, and curriculum guides are available at the links to the left.

You will find our highly qualified faculty on the cutting edge of our profession. We hold prominent positions in national academic organizations, publish research in peer reviewed journals, and serve our community through a wide variety of activities. Our campus facilities are excellent, and our classrooms have the most current teaching resources and technology to support active and engaging educational experiences. Additionally, our students have an exceptional record of success with the Praxis II exam with a 98% pass rate in the last 10 years.
