Accounting employers have been recognized by Business Week as the best place to launch your career and by CFO magazine as one of the most profitable careers in the country. The accounting program at North Carolina A&T State University was the first at a historically black university to receive the prestigious accreditation of AACSB International. In fact, only about 6% of accounting programs in the world have this separate accreditation. Our caring faculty provide a sense of family, and our program is one of the top producers of African-American CPAs in the country. Our best students have opportunities to intern with top internationally known accounting firms and Fortune 500 companies in summers after their sophomore and junior years. These internships provide wonderful experience and maximize employment opportunities upon graduation. In addition to great employment opportunities, we partner with some of the top graduate programs in the country and successfully place our students there.
The Department and the School sponsor numerous organizations to complement the total development of the student. These organizations are designed to promote professional skill development and networking opportunities with representatives from the accounting profession. Our students also benefit from our accounting alumni who have achieved esteemed positions in business and who remain involved with the school. In short, we believe our program will be very beneficial to your efforts to launch a successful career in business.
