Landscape Architecture is concerned with the quality of land use. It includes the analysis of environmental and social factors and recommendations for the preservation, planning, design, construction, management and research of natural and developed land areas. The scope of projects varies from broad, regional landscape planning and analysis to detailed site design.

Employers

One option for graduates is to strike out on their own, after they’ve passed the Landscape Architecture Registration Examination (L.A.R.E.). Almost 23 percent of landscape architects are self-employed. The Landscape Architecture program at North Carolina A&T State University prepares students with the background they will need to start their own businesses, if that is their inclination.
