M.S. in Agricultural Education
The world depends on agricultural sciences, and that’s why agricultural educators are needed everywhere – in business, in schools, and in government.
The Master of Science in Agricultural Education at N.C. A&T will prepare you for a professional career teaching or communicating the complexities of the global agriculture and natural resources systems that we all depend on.
Graduates of our program find rewarding careers in these professions, and more:
- Agriscience teacher for middle or high school
- 4-H youth development coordinator
- Cooperative Extension agent
- Environmental law
- International development
- Professor or researcher at land-grant universities
- Management, human resources, public relations and marketing for ag industries
- Government official for United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and other federal or state agencies.
The Master of Science in Agricultural Education at N.C. A&T offers two concentrations for you to choose from, depending on your career goals:
- Professional Licensure – Prepares individuals to teach agriscience education in middle and high schools. Graduates of this track are eligible to apply for advanced (graduate level) licensure in North Carolina. This track offers graduates versatility in career options, because it also prepares them for the many other professions that rely on agricultural educators.
- Professional Service – Prepares individuals for careers in agribusiness, government, or legal professions.
Other features of the program:
- Requires completion of 37 credit hours
- Has a thesis or non-thesis option
- Offers flexibility – all “Ag Ed” courses are offered completely online, as well as on campus
- Each student’s program of study is guided by a graduate committee
