The Bridge to the Doctorate (BD) Fellowship Program

NCLSAMP is now accepting applications for The Bridge to the Doctorate (BD) Fellowship Program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NCAT).  The BD program is funded by the National Science Foundation. The overall goal of the BD program seeks to broaden the participation of underrepresented minority students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and ensure matriculation of a larger number of these well-trained and educated students to graduate school. Information collected on this application is for program purposes only, and will remain confidential.

Program Benefits

  • Tuition and normal fees, including health insurance
  • Annual stipend of $30,000 for two years

Eligibility Criteria

  • Former participant in an undergraduate LSAMP program (written verification required)
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Accepted into a STEM graduate program at NCAT
  • Enrolled as a full-time graduate student (9 hrs.)
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in a STEM undergraduate major (transcript required)
  • Must be committed to pursuing a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline
