Welcome!!

dr kellyAs chairperson I would first like to take the time to thank my ECE faculty, staff and students for their efforts in ensuring that we have a quality ECE program. The undergraduate and graduate enrollments have continued to increase and this is a clear indication of the quality of the work being done by the faculty and staff in fulfilling the educational needs of the students as they pursue ECE degrees in preparation for careers in the field of electrical and computer engineering.

Our departmental growth has required some departmental reorganization to allow us to serve the students, both prospective and current, as well as their parents, and alumni. We will continue to add faculty members and change the roles and responsibilities of the faculty and staff to meet the demands, challenges and opportunities of this growth.

The department is involved in a number of major projects that we are extremely excited about. We have added Computer Engineering as a degree program. The department continues to have outstanding faculty and student research projects and we are pursuing new research opportunities. The department is eagerly awaiting participation in the 2008 Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) South East Conference, National Engineers Week and the National Society of Black Engineers Conference to showcase our faculty and student accomplishment and to network with other engineers, educators and representatives from Corporate America and Government. It is a privilege to host visitors from all over the country. It gives us, as a whole, the chance to learn from one another and network. It also gives us, as a department, the opportunity to exhibit our pride in education.
