Theatre Program

On behalf of the Theatre Arts Faculty, staff, student and alunmi throughout the globe, we delight in your interest in our program. The Theatre Arts Program at North Carolina A&T State University is the home of the National Award-Winning Richard B. Harrison Players. We are committed to helping you to become the best theatre artist you can be.

We offer an outstanding Bachelor of Fine Arts program that is dedicated to professionally training a student in his or her chosen area of either acting or technology. Our students have won numerous regional and national awards at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. We have been invitied to Region IV KCACTF competitions sixteen times and twice to the national festival held at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. of Theatre.

The National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST) accredited the Theatre Program in 1988, making it the first accredited Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) at a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) in North Carolina and only the second in the nation. NAST re-accredited the program in 1996, making it in 2000 the only accredited BFA at an HBCU.
