Department Requirements
Psychology major: The major in psychology must complete 124 semester hours of University courses. Included in the 124 semester hours are 25 hours of University Studies requirements, 50 hours of psychology courses, 35 hours of non-psychology courses, and 14 hours of free electives.
You must have at least a 2.8 GPA out of high school in order to major in psychology, or a 2.8 in order to transfer into psychology from another university or major.
You must make at least a "C" in ALL of your psychology classes.
You must maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 in order to graduate.
Psychology minor: Students desiring to minor in psychology must complete PSYC320 or PSYC321 (3 hours), and three of the following: PSYC324, PSYC420, PSYC434, PSYC439 (9 hours), and two additional psychology electives (6 hours). Students completing the minor must earn a grade of "C" or better in all courses for the minor. Students must complete a minimum of 24 academic credits before declaring a minor.
