Department of History

The Department of History combines the two classic disciplines of History and Philosophy in one department.  This unique combination of disciplines empowers students with a better understanding of today’s world and the skills necessary to prepare for and change the future.

Students in the department develop skills in research, analysis, decision-making, and communication. These skills prepare students for successful careers, constructive participation in civic affairs, and lifelong learning. In short, the department of history emphasizes the personal development of each student and prides itself of producing well-rounded, thoughtful, and practical Aggies that are prepared to succeed in an ever changing society.
