Welcome to North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University’s Speech Program! We consider it to be one of the best for three great reasons:
- Our faculty and staff support,
- Our customized student plan of study, and
- Our success record for preparing students for graduate school.
First, our faculty and staff provide individual care and attention to all of our speech majors throughout their undergraduate education.
Secondly, our Speech Program offers two concentrations that are customized to the needs and future goals of the individual student. They are Speech-Communication Studies and Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
Communication Studies Students are engaged in an interdisciplinary study; mastering theories of human communication, ethics, and public discourse to include political, cultural, economic and social dimensions of speech and language.
Speech-language Pathology and Audiology Students earn all of the pre-requisite courses within their curriculum for entrance into a graduate program in communication sciences and disorders enabling them to become practicing Speech-language Pathologists who evaluate, treat, and research human communication and its disorders, such as dysfluent speech, and delayed language development.
Finally, our Speech Program has an exceptional record for preparing our students to enter into a graduate school. Over 80% of 2010-2011 graduates were accepted.
